Melbourne’s Monash University Gets a Facelift
BMPX (Brookfield Multiplex) won the contract to overhaul building B17 “Innovative Walk”. Gallery Commercial were awarded the contract to supply the GRC cladding for the project. The design is by Rickard Engineering with supply by Polysources from Guangdong, China.
Charles Rickard visited Polysources in August 2016. He was pleased to report to the BMPX team that he was most impressed with their organisation. This confidence has been reflected in their outstanding performance in the early stages of manufacture and supply. See enclosed architectural impressions of the finished building.
A key feature of the project is that the new external cladding of the building will be completed before any of the existing external façade is removed. This will occur from within the building. The university is also planning a similar overhaul of the Alexandra Theatre. This project is out to tender at the current time.
